Totally Unrealistic Tuesday

Snappy title huh? Here are three totally unrealistic and truly impossible dreams of mine.
Dream #1:
I long to be locked in a Barnes and Noble by myself overnight. I could read whatever I liked without the fear of being judged by passerbys thinking "why is she reading that" and have unlimited supply of Starbucks coffee (which I'm sure I could manage to make myself since I worked in a coffee shop). It would be AWESOME. I thought of this dream the other day when I went to work too early and with an hour to spare just sat in a corner next to the magazine rack and read to my hearts content.

Dream #2:
It's silly but I've always wanted to go to the White House and just walk around the gardens with the President and just talk. We'd talk open and honestly about everything from his politics and how he feels about the media to his family. No photographers, no news reporters no tape recorders. Just me and the Big Cheese. Granted I had this fantasy with our last President but if the opportunity arose with the new one I'd still take it.

Dream #3:
I've had this fantasy since I was 10 years old and my daddy took me to see the epic movie in theaters. I dream of being on the Titanic. Just getting to walk around and see the splendor and the beauty of it first hand. Granted I might get a little taste of it next time we go to Gatlinburg. Apparently they're building a Titanic museum and the outside it supposed to be a replica of the ship and inside is supposed to be the grand staircase. I think if I ever go there I'm going to cry.
What are some of your fantasies?

Another Friday Another Fill In

1. The best piece of advice I was ever given was worry about nothing, pray about everything. Via my mom.

2. If I had a million dollars to give to one charity I would give it to the SPCA or the Humane Society.

3. If I got to choose my "last meal" it would be steak and baked potato from Ruth's Chris and some mashed potatoes. I know, I just really love potatoes. Followed by cheesecake.

4. My hair is looking good these days I think since I got it cut after Christmas. Its time for a trim and I'm contemplating getting sideswept bangs.

5. If at first you don't succeed try again and if you still suck maybe it's just not your thing.

6. I have always been very shy. Always. I used to be even more shy than I am now. Whenever I get around new people I get real nervous and clumsy.

7. Oh and by the way...we're moving in a month from yesterday and I have only packed a few little figurines. Dreeeeading packing.

Pub Crawl!

Last night me, Chris and our buddy Colin went to Wilmington for a Haunted Pub Crawl. We met the group in an underground bar where we also met our tour guide, John. He told us stories about the history of the bars in Wilmington and how the one we were standing in had burned to the ground. Here we are in the 2nd bar on the tour. Underground again. Here he told us stories of sailors that used to make port in the area and how Jack the Ripper had done his dirty deeds in Wilmington.

3rd bar! The Liquid Room. This is Chris and Colin doing Irish car bombs.

Last bar.

This cool hallway used to be an alley bewtween the two bars.

Colin and John at the end of the tour.
All in all it was a fun night! Definately worth the 15 bucks a ticket.
Today we got up and went to eat lunch at Mi Cabana and then went to walmart. My wonderful hubby bought me New Moon on DVD that I'm watching and drooling over as we speak! I work tonight but the weather is so absolutely GORGEOUS that I'm in a good mood and I don't mind.
Love and beer,
Alyssa

My Oscar Thoughts

The Oscars were last night! I love love love award season. Partially for the competition but mostly for the fashions! I'm so glad Christoph Waltz won for Best Supporting Actor. He was brilliant and evil in Inglorius Basterds.

While I love Sandra Bullock and I'm glad she won, I was almost pulling for Meryl Streep. I mean, the woman is arguably the most talented actress of our time, has had 17 nominations and hasn't won since the earlt 1980's! Did you see her performance in Julie and julia?? Sooo funny!!

Monique's acceptance speech really made me groan and roll my eyes. Seiously, be gracious and stop playing the race card. To me, she implied that if any of the other talented actresses had won, it would have been because of politics and their white race instead of their performances.
By far the funniest moment was Ben Stiller made up as a character from Avatar! Priceless...and more than a little scary with the yellow eyes...

Here are my picks for Best Dressed!
Cameron Diaz:
Carey Mulliagn:

Amanda Seyfried:
And now for the Worst Dressed (in my humble opinion):
Zoe Saldana. The first thing I said out loud when I saw this was "that dress is a travesty".
Vera Farmiga. This dress added 20 pounds to her body.

The usually stunning SJP:

A Wonderful Sunday Together

We had a WONDERFUL day today! We got up, got ready and left for Emerald Isle at noon. We went to Mac Daddy's for a couple of hours and played fun arcade games. We played ski ball 5 times. He beat me everytime but once. The only reason I beat him that one time is because he LET me win. I called him on it and said I thought we were passed that. Then we played basketball and either we tied or I beat him all three times. So $20 and 1000 points later we left to go to the movie theater with the free tickets I got last week. We had some time to kill before the movie started so we walked around a pier, the plaza and this supercute little bookstore. We saw Shutter Island at this tiny private owned theater. So small it only had 4 theaters and an actual person running the projectors....which went down halfway through the movie. But since the tickets were free we really couldnt complain! Anyway, the movie was long but really good. I called the surprise ending which I never do!! After the movie we went to a restaurant in the same plaza that we've never been to before. Everytime we go out of Jacksonville city limits we try a new place to eat.
So it was a great day! Heres pics!

My Saturday Night...

...has consisted of playing on Addictinggames.com, cuddling with my cats, ramen noodles, twinkies (I know...I said i'd stop eating them), The Green Mile, Pretty Woman and picnik.com.
Tomorrow will be better!! I'm off, I just got paid, I got two free movie tickets to a theater in Emerald Isle at an auction I worked last week and it's supposed to be GORGEOUS weather! So date day with the husband.
My pick-me-up for the day was when I went to the mail box. I hadn't checked the mail in OVER two weeks. I know its always bills...and really...who wants those? I got a Valentines Day card from my long lost bff Marissa. She was my very best friend in middle school and my maid-of-honor at our wedding. She moved away with her family after our freshman year of high school. Ever better than hallmark, it was a home-made card. On the front was a picture of us at the beach from 2006. Inside she reminded me that she loves me and values our friendship. And even though we dont talk much, when we do it's like we've never been apart. On the back was "Made epecially for you by The Queen of Sheba". An inside joke from moons ago that made us laugh so hard we cried.
Anyway, heres what I've done with my time home alone tonight. What it was:

What is is!:

Love and kitties,

Alyssa

Fill in the Blank Friday!

Play along at thelittlethingswedo.blogspot.com!

1. One thing I MUST do before I die is travel! I want more than anything to go to Europe and see France, Ireland, and Germany.

2. I would rather do laundry than do dishes any day.

3. If I could give my younger self one peice of advice it would be "listen to your parents. They've been there and they only want what's best for you."

4. If I won the lottery tomorrow I'd take my family to Disneyworld!! Theeen pay off our debt, pay off my PARENTS debt, buy my sister a car, build me and my husband a house on my family's land and spend a good majority of the rest of traveling.

5. The best surprise ever was when me and Chris drove the 10 hours home to Alabama without my parents knowing and showed up at their door at 10 o'clock. Best surprised faces EVER.

6. My biggest fault is I'm a jealous person. Not just over Chris but over friends and family too.

7. My biggest strength is my loyalty. I'm fiercely loyal to the people I love. When people depend on me I dont let them down.

Just thinking about Disneyworld makes me sad. I want to go back so bad it's killing me! It might be childish but its the happiest place on earth! It brings back all the magic you felt watching Disney as a kid. I was starstruck when I got to sit on Cinderella's throne with her and blushed ten shades of red when the prince waved at me. =)

Thats what we think of that:
Chris and his babygirl:
These two give us so much love! We got so lucky and picked two of the sweetest kitties I've ever met! They're basically like our kids and we can't imagine our life without them now!
