A Heavy Heart

Last night was something to say the least. Our phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to know what was going in the subdivision next to us (my dad is a captain firefighter so he's expected to know everything). A family of three and their pets were found dead in the home from carbon monoxide poisoning. The daughter was a senior at HHS. Just sad all around. After the firetrucks, police and onlookers left, it was eerily quiet in our little town. Something like this just makes you remember that we're never guaranteed tomorrow or even another breath. And oddly enough, the sermon yesterday morning was about death and God's victory over the grave.

We ask that You wrap Your arms around our town. We pray that their souls have been lifted up and You have already welcomed them into Your kingdom. We pray for those loved ones left behind. Give them divine comfort as only You can. Give them hope in knowing that You have absolute victory over the grave and they will see them again one day. Thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness. May Your name be glorified even in death.

  1. Wow that is such a sad story Alyssa. Isn't it something how a sermon can hit so close to home in only a couple days time? Just goes to show you God was using your pastor on sunday. Hope your doing well despite the circumstances.

  2. That's awful. That happened across the street fomr my parents house but luckily they all got out okay.
