Hobby Lobby is not my friend

List 13:

You'll notice this list is very short. That's because I'm not what you call "crafty". Wish I was. But I'm not. I was inspired by this simple artwork today. I saw it and thought" hey...I could do that".

I don't have a gift in the kitchen, but if I try maybe I'll have a green thumb?

And surely using a hot glue gun to attach random little items found at Hobby Lobby to plain photo frames can't be that hard....

Weekly Rituals

Tomorrow is Thursday, which means the day after that is Friday! Woo hoo!

I woke up this morning feeling like a train wreck. Probably a mix of abs class, sobbing (very literally sobbing) while watching that show and getting bad sleep through the weather last night. Two cups of coffee didn't even do it for me.

List 12:

"I'm late for a very important date..."

I'm going to make this short. My body hurts from the gym and my face hurts from sobbing during "Coming Home" and I am just about to fall asleep.

List 11

Date Ideas:

These are some of my faves. Playing mini-golf brings out the competitor in us. He used to let me win. No he actually tries...and I still win. Chris is a huge sports fan in general but we both pull for the Atlanta Braves and I like going to sporting events with him. I think he thinks it's cute that he has to explain what's happening to me. The zoo, to me, never gets old. I could go 1,000 times and every time it'll be like I've never it before.

The picture above was taken on a memorable date we had last spring.

Ya know what? When you're with the right person there's nothing wrong with dinner and a movie either.

When you wish upon a star...

I drove my car to work today! I'm loving Rosie! I PROMISE I'll post pics. It's just been really crappy weather since Saturday. It hailed last night and I didn't even hear it. Had I known I would have gladly thrown myself over Rosie and shielded her with my own fragile body (I got a good giggle out of that mental image).

I did spin class today for the first time. NEVER AGAIN. It was fun for the first 10 minutes. It was all downhill from there. I felt like such a wuss. There were women twice my age who were right there with the instructor and I was DYING in the corner. The only good thing about that class was the music. All techno! They played Sandstorm to start off. One of my faves. There was even a Braveheart mix thrown in there. AMAZING.

List #10

In case it's unreadable:

My Wishlist

-to one day be a foster "parent" for rescued cats.

-a few kids of the human variety

-a white picket fence

-the war to be over and all the troops to come home safely

-this painting (above) somewhere in my house

Rain can be a good thing.

Today has been a wonderful day of being lazy with the husband. It's been raining and nasty with a few passing thunderstorms. We only got out (in our pajamas) to run through the KFC drive-through. It's Sunday so 10 pieces for $10! Uh...Winning! (Yes, that was a Charlie Sheen reference.) We watched The Fighter. Excellent movie. We also watched House, a Lisa Lampanelli special, Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars, Ghost Hunters and Family Guy. Gotta love DVR on days like this. I took a nap somewhere in there while he watched RAW. Sometimes it's nice to have a day where you do nothing but shamelessly watch TV in your jammies. Now I feel rested and ready for a new week.

I'm really enjoying this List project.

Got my car!

I bought my first car today!! A 2010 fire engine red Nissan Versa. I found it last night and decided on it this morning. I HATE making decisions! It took me a good solid minute to decide if I wanted a pop tart or cheese curlz out of the vending machine at CarMax. But this car just looks like Alyssa! Pictures later!
Tonight my stomach is in knots because of the weather. Tis the season for tornadoes to fall out of the sky. In case of hail we crammed my car, Kaylen's Sante Fe, and my mom's minivan in our 2 car garage. It's a good thing dad is at the station tonight so he can park his truck in the bay.
I'm exhausted so tomorrow looks like it's going to be a TV/movie day with the husband.
Day 8: What's in my bag?!

1. a random notepad
2. my planner
3. a button from the annual Halloween trick or treating at Tannehill State park
4. my glasses case
5. keys to my new car!!
6. hair brush to swoop my bangs out of the way
7. my camera (this photo taken with my mom's camera)
8. cell and wallet (a very tiny wallet)
9. headache meds
10. cheese curlz from CarMax today
11. random USB
12. Burts Bee's lip gloss and my favorite lipstick
13. earrings that got thrown in my purse and two hair clippies, just in case

Decisions, decisions.

I have a decision to make. Tomorrow (weather permitting) I will drive home in a new car. Will it be a Jeep Liberty or a Nissan Versa hatchback? I hate making decisions!

Gym Rat

Hey yall! I went to the gym again today! I know that probably doesn't seem very exciting, but I'm usually so lazy! I've found that it helps me sleep really well and I just feel better after a workout. I might even try spin class or zumba next week! Zumba scares the crap out of me. I'm not sure if I'm coordinated enough for that.
Tomorrow is Friday and even though this week flew by it still wasn't fast enough. The work days draaaaged on.

I'm having so much fun with this project!

Prayer Hands

Hello again!
My first yoga experience was interesting. Mostly what I expected and a lot like what I've seen in movies. Dark lighting, chill background music. I discovered I might have more balance than I thought! I'll definitely be going back.
Another day, another list!
List 5:

Wee Bit Wednesday

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm doing yoga at the gym tonight....by myself. I've never done it before and I'm nervous. Do you wear shoes when you do yoga?
Today has been a crap day and I just need something to relax me. So I figure yoga and then coming home and reading the Life and Style I got in the mail yesterday and then going to bed early. Now if I just wasn't so cheap I'd get my nails done or something ridiculous.

Link up with Leigh Ashley to play along!

{one} what was your first job?
I worked at a mall kiosk for a modeling agency. Crap job.

{two} have you ever seen a stand up comedian?
Yes! The biggest being Steve-o a few weeks ago.

{three} when was the last time you played mini golf?
Hm...I think it was in Myrtle Beach.

{four} what was the last picture you took?
At the zoo with Chris.

{five} burnt food: yes or no?
What? no.

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?
Put it in my change jug of course!

{seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?
Nope. And no I didn't just try it.

{eight} do you scrapbook?
I used to. it's been a couple of years.

{nine} do you buy lottery tickets?
Nope. Never have anyway.

{ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
Either or. I like taking pictures but I don't mind it being taken either.

I was a heavy heart to carry...

Today had to have been one of the longest days on record. I've felt EXHAUSTED. All I've been thinking about since I woke up was how much I wanted to go back to sleep.
Day 4 of Lists:
Today's Playlist.
In case you can't read the teeny tiny type at the bottom it's "Heavy in your Arms" by Florence and the Machine. This is possibly one of my new favorite songs. And I don't throw the word "favorite" around willy nilly.
"Broken" came on my Pandora at work and I was sitting there literally holding back tears. I haven't heard this song in forever and it reminds me of deployment. It really makes me feel like Chris is in Iraq again. I remember sitting at the computer, right after he left for his first tour, listening to this song, looking at pictures of us and just crying my eyes out.
Moving on.
I'm going to bed and (hopefully) getting some good sleep.

"Looking Forward to it!"

Still no car for me. We had an appointment to go look at a Liberty this dealer was getting in. We got there and he was all excited to show it to me. Said he'd set it aside and even put a little "sold" sign in the window so no one could get it. He was so proud.
It was the wrong car. It was a Jeep WRANGLER! Bless his heart! I felt so bad for him! He was so embarrassed.
Me and the husband watched "The Last Exorcism" tonight. Nothing will ever compare to the original. Because of the weird ending, I'm not as scared to shut my eyes as I should be. But just in case I wake up and think I see a chick in a white night gown standing over me, my sister's room is right down the hall.
Day 3 of Lists!

75 and Sunny

Happy, BEAUTIFUL Sunday, everybody!
We've been blessed with really great weather this weekend. 75 and sunny. Perfection.
MORE car shopping for me and the husband today. I'm really starting to dislike care salesmen. I tell them "I'm looking for an X or a Y under 13." They show me a Z for 16. I just need to be more direct. I've never been good at saying "no."
Last night I won a bet on the UFC fights so I get to pick where we eat for brunch! Ihop it is! I have been seriously craving pancakes.
I present to you Day 2 of 30 Days of Lists:

New Project

Hello!
Today is a beautiful day outside. Me and the husband are doing some more car shopping today! So excited. I'm looking mainly at Jeep Liberty's and VW Rabbits. If you've had one of these before let me know what you think!

Today I'm also starting a new 30 day project: 30 Days of Lists!

I'm starting a little late but if you want to play along go to 30 Days of Lists and check it out. Let the creativity flow!

Day 1: A few things about myself.

Out with the Old....

Yesterday was kind of a sad day for me. Chris and I both needed new cars (we've only had one for the past year and a half). We've been using my Lancer. It was my first car. My parents bought if for me when I was a couple months shy of 17. I called it The Jewel. It was perfect for me. Small and beautiful blue. Last night we traded it in for a Nissan Versa (a very pretty car itself). As we were cleaning it out at Carmax I found stuck in the steering column, pink faux flower petals that were thrown in our car at our wedding. I didn't think I would be so attached to it but I cried as we drove away in the Versa.
Here's some pics of me with The Jewel.
First Sunday driving her to church:

Dressing her up for Spirit Week my senior year. (It was tacky day if you didn't figure that out.)

Leaving our wedding! We were pulling pink petals out of there for months!

I'm going to miss my car!

Final Photo!

I just got off the phone with Marissa talking bridesmaid details. =) Makes me happy. I LOVE weddings and I love being IN them even more!
Be sending good vibes to Kaylen tomorrow as she's trying out for cheerleading for her senior year! I know she'll do great!
Hooray! I've reached the end of the 30 day photo challenge!
A photo of myself. No 10 facts or anything, just my face. I guess they figure you've learned enough about me in the last 30 posts.

Wee Bit Of Me Wednesday

I haven't done one of these in forever!
Answer the questions and link up with Leigh!

{one} what color is your kitchen?
Blue.

{two} do you have a good luck charm?
Nope.

{three} do you prefer to write with a pen or pencil?
PEN. I don't like pencils save for the first few minutes you use them when the point is really sharp.

{four} can you use chopsticks?
Kind of!

{five} do you prefer baths or showers?
Showers. I always think I'll enjoy a bubble bath, but I get bored just sitting there.

{six} what is your favorite salad dressing?
1000 Island for salad and ranch for everything else.

{seven} can you sing the alphabet backwards?
Negative.

{eight} do you have any allergies?
Topical Vitamin E. Long story.

{nine} crunchy or creamy peanut butter?
Creamy please.

{ten} have you ever hitch hiked?
I value my life.

Miss you.

After only a couple months, I have another new position at work. I am now the "personalization entry coordinator". It's a newly created posittion so I get to forge a path!...so to speak.

Photo Challenge Day 29:
A photo of my someone I miss.
My best friend, Jamie. I can't believe it's been a whole year since we saw each other! We met on my first day at the most awful job either us have probably ever had. I knew she was a friend when she bought me Twilight themed conversation heart candy. =) I knew she was a BEST friend when I trusted her with all my secrets.
We don't have that many pictures together, but these gems are from Halloween 09 at a hole-in-the-wall karaoke bar in Jacksonville, NC where our husbands were stationed.
We played the old "mummify your friend" game.

We lost...

...Bad. When all else fails, stuff as much toilet paper in your mouth as you can before the time runs out!

"We Are of Peace..."

Is anyone else a "V" fan? Is anyone else as excited as I am about the season finale next week?! I want Morena Baccarin's face. It's so perfect!

I bought a plane ticket today to DC for Marissa's wedding! I can't wait. It's been a while since I was on a plane though. Does anyone have any tips for how to travel with my floor length bridesmaids dress??
The weather has been crappy today and it's supposed to stay crappy for two more days. Wonderful. It's thundering tonight so that means I'll be sleeping with a flashlight.
If the weather clears up we're going car shopping this weekend! I haven't had a new car since...my first car! Ha!
Photo Challenge Day 29:
A photo that makes me smile.
I adore this picture! Look how small my babies were. And the cute little way their heads are tilted. I just can't figure out why they're staring at Chris' butt.

"Its a twister! It's a twister!"

I'm home after working a half day. My stomach is completely upside down. Maybe I'll just eat saltine crackers from here on out.
I found this new 30 day challenge that I find MUCH more interesting. 30 Day of Lists. So I'm going to try my best to do the current challenge every day just to get rid of it.

Photo Challenge Day 28:
A photo of something I'm afraid of.
Storms. Tornadoes in particular. Here in "Dixie Alley" it seems like they can fall out of any storm no matter what time of year it is. With hurricanes you have time to prepare. With tornadoes, you might have 15 minutes. Almost 11 years ago (doesn't seem like it) we had a bad one a few miles away. An F5 that killed 36 people. I'm terrified of them but fascinated by them. Me and my dad and sister watched Storm Chasers and can't wait to see their IMax movie.

"I'll always be your girl"

I'm watching Forest Gump for the millionth time. I'll be crying by the end though. It's inevitable. Don't know if I ever mentioned it but I walked down the aisle to the theme from this movie. <3

Photo Challenge Day 27:
A picture of me and family member.
My daddy. My first word was Dada and I've loved him since I was a baby. My mom always says a girl may love her mother but there's something special about her daddy.
Even as a tot, I was charming.

Dancing to "Sweet Home Alabama" at my wedding reception. Nothing else would do!

Playing Catch Up.

I'm a really bad blogger. Here's the past week for me.

The best thing about the Oscars was this. I wish I was an A-cup so I could wear this without looking like a wanna-be porn star.

I went shopping and actually spent money. Shocker. These shoes at Forever 21 was one purchase. Along with sunglasses also from Forever 21 and boyfriend jeans at AE. Spending money feels too good.
My babies turned two yesterday!! Chris and I were reminiscing about the day we brought them home. They were so tiny! I could hold them both, one in each hand. Gus was freaking out on the drive him in the little box they put them in. He managed to just squeeze his head out of the top of the box. He looked like he was being born. When we got home, Dixie disappeared under the couch and carved herself a hiding place in the lining.
Don't let the picture fool you. Gus is a party animal.

Photo Challenge Day Whatever:
A picture of something that means a lot to me.

My wedding rings. He put my engagement ring on my finger two days before I turned 18. He slipped the band on my finger April 28th, 2007 and it hasn't left since.
