Ten on Tuesday - Weekend Watches, Smooth Cats, and New Obsession

 1. I have at least one day a week where I think "...I shouldn't have got out of bed."  Today is that day.  I sat at my desk and didn't realize I was grumbling out loud until my coworker responded to it.

2. Finished Breaking Dawn and dove right into Priceless.  Was NOT expecting it to be so dirty!  That Nicole Ritchie....

3. We had a Breaking Bad marathon over the weekend and finally finished season 4.  We just sat there speechless.  Mind.  Blown.

4. A conversation from last night.  Me: Babe, what day is it? Chris: Monday.  Me: The....?  Chris: The 29th.  Of July.  Of the year of our Lord 2013.  Welcome to my world.

5. Possibly the smoothest cat ever.

6.Yall, I made my first outfit on Polyvore.  Can you say obsessed???
Mint Gold Minimalism

7. If I had grapes.  I'd be like "yea, I have a garden on my arm.  what of it?".

8. I've been missing Amanda Byne's stupid tweets since, you know, she got locked up.

9. My long lost friend, Lauren is going to be upset when she comes back from vacay and finds out her girl is in big trouble.  I'm seriously missing her face in this office.  Lauren's, not Teresa NameIcanneverpronounce's.

10. Patricia posted this and it's just too perfect not to share.

My Favorite Day Part 1

I got to thinking, I haven't talked much about the happiest day of my life on this little blog.  That's why I've decided to share with you my favorite pictures from our wedding day in three short parts.

 photo myfavoriteday_zpsad912ddf.jpg

Chris and I were married when I was 19 and he was 20 in 2007 at the church where we met and were both baptised.  My parents gave me the wedding I'd always dreamed about and I was over the moon to finally be married to him.

A few random tidbits:

-You'll notice there are no candles other than the unity candle in the church.  That's because I told the florist specifically NO candles.  I'm not a fan of open flames and would be terrified throughout the service that one would tip over, catch the church on fire, and ruin the day.  Yeah.  That's what I was thinking.  I couldn't have been happier with the way the sanctuary looked.  It was every bit as beautiful as I imagined it.

-In the 6th photo down I'm standing next to the stained glass window dedicated to my great-grandparents.

-I have talked in detail about my dress here.

-In the 5th photo from the bottom, that's my baby necklace hanging from my bouquet that my mother had added.  I thought it was a sweet little (shiny) touch.

-The Marine Corps told Chris we had exactly TWO dates to choose from.  The one we went with (April 28th) and Cinco de Mayo.  Ha.

-From the day we solidified the date I started praying for good weather.  In April in Alabama I was so scared we'd be dodging tornadoes.  What we got was a perfectly beautiful sunny day!

I wish EVERY blog I follow would do a post(s) about their wedding!  I love weddings and seeing how different people with different styles, personalities, and traditions do them.

Hope you'll tune in for Part 2 next week!  (You know you want to.)

Currently

royal baby

Reading: The Twilight Saga.  For the 4th time.  I'm completely ok with you judging me for this.  I don't know what made me want to reread it.  It also makes me so angry that they ruined these amazing books with below sub par movies.  RPatz in my opinion, totally looks the part.  He just didn't get the attitude right.  Edward in the books is charming.  Bella actually does have a personality.  Kristen Stewart just ruined her.  But whatever, I'll always enjoy the books.  Up next on my reading list is Night Circus, The Devil Wears Prada, and Priceless (that came in my wonderful swap box).

Watching: Master Chef right now is my favorite show on TV.  Chris loves America's Got Talent but I'm just...eh.  I LOVE watching people who know what they're doing cook.  And of course I love Gordon Ramsey.  It's amazing to me how they can look at a basket of five or six ingredients and pull out an amazing dish that I NEVER would have thought of.  But then again there's not much in my cooking repertoire.  We won't get into that.

Drinking: Pepsi in old time glass bottles.  Yep.  Chris grabs a pack for me every time he goes to the gas station.  It tastes better in a glass.

Thinking About: The royal baby.  (I guessed the name!)   I just think there's something so cool about an entire country all holding their breath and getting so excited over a little baby.  It's weird to think that that little human will one day rule a country.  Makes you wonder what he's going to grow up to be like (besides incredibly good looking, that's a no-brainer).  I mean that baby is a prince for crying out loud!  But that whole story fascinates me.  A real life fairy tale.

Praying for: everyone in my family who's traveling to Florida today for a dear uncle's memorial service.  Chris and I couldn't go but my parents, sister and grandparents are all going plus a handful of other family members.  It makes me nervous all of them together traveling for so long.  If you could remember them this weekend that would make me really happy.

Ten on Tuesday - Royal Baby, Vine Famous and This Dang Humidity

1.  We finally have a royal baby!  I was checking news updates at LEAST every 30 minutes yesterday and today I'll be waiting to see them present him on the steps of the hospital!  So exciting!  What do you think he'll be named?  I'm betting on George.  GOSH I wish I was there.

2. It's raining....again.  My poor hair.  Ugh

3. I'm kind of obsessed with this guy's Vines.  I've had "I Just Wanna Party" stuck in my head the last two days.

4. Chris, take note.

5.  On my list of things I hate, slow drivers ranks over terrorists, Taylor Swift, tomatoes, and puppy killers.

6. I'm doing this.  So easy and goodness knows I need something pretty over my toilet.

 7. I really hate being made to feel stupid because I pay attention to pop culture, read tabloids and actually care what the royals are up to.

8. It's funny because it's true:

9. My BRLBFF (blog/real life bff), Lauren is gone for two whole weeks!  She's driving cross country and from her instagrams I don't think she cares much for Oklahoma.

10.  This has been me for like two weeks straight!  I'm starting to think Nana might be right about that iron deficiency...

I thought this was a really neat linkup and hated that I missed the first week!  So let's hear it for the boys.  It's raining men.  Yada yada.

[Note: he answered these questions interview style as I typed.  Because let's face it, he just wasn't going to actually sit and type them himself.]

Ten on Tuesday - Fuzzy Little Critters

 1. This weekend was glorious.  I did nothing and scratched two movies off my "To Watch" list.  Movie 43: please don't waste your time.  I was bitterly disappointed.  Part of it are too disgusting to be funny.  I'm sitting here trying desperately NOT to think about it so I don't gag.
The Host:  decent but I'm shouting from the rooftops about it.

2. I also got into one of our spare rooms and actually went through some boxes and made space!  You can walk from one side of the room to the other now!  I kid you not.

3. Taxidermy Jewelry: The gift that never dies.  Seriously.  Who in their right mind would wear that?

4. So Bieber is peeing in restaurant kitchens now.  Maybe he should get new friends and stop hanging out with Lil' Twist and Lil' Hoodlum or whatever their names are.

5. Me today.  Just...just no.

 6. It's only mid-July and I'm already tired of summer.  But here in good ole' Alabama it lasts til....November.  October if we're lucky.

7. My house is freaking me out at night.  It creaks and cracks all night long.  And I swear the cats see something in the hallway that I can't see.  At least once a night they'll just stop and stare wide-eyed down the hall.  I HATE it when they do that.

8. Terrell Gausha: Can't bare to wear the ole' red, white and blue anymore?  By all means don't.  Screw you.

9. For no other reason than it's terribly cute:

10.  I noticed that I have lots of fuzzy little critters on this Ten on Tuesday.

Beat the Heat Swap!

I had such a good experience with Linny's Perfect Night In swap I couldn't wait to sign up for this one.  I've seriously lucked out with awesome partners.  Linny and Meg paired me with Emerald from Sweet Tart Beauty.  This girl SPOILED me.

These two are by far my favorite from my box:

The Kate Middleton print WILL be framed.  Funny thing, I gave the cat poetry book as a gift when I was a secret santa at work and I haven't been able to find in stores since then!
Please allow me to share with you an exerpt. Feel free to snap your fingers at the end:

Busy, Busy
It's 8 a.m. and time to rest
It's 10 a.m. and time to relax
It's noon and time for repose
It's 3 p.m. and time for shut-eye
It's 6 p.m. and time for siesta
It's 9 p.m. and time to slumber
It's midnight and time to snooze
It's 4 a.m. and time to hang upside down
from your bedroom ceiling, screaming

Enlightening, is it not?

Thank you, Emerald for the most awesome swap box and thank you to Lin and Meg for putting it all together!

Sunday Social - Music Edition

I haven't done a Sunday Social in a while and since I liked this week's theme I thought, why not?
So link up with Neely and Ashley and play along.

Sunday Social

1. What is your all-time favorite song?
Iris by Goo Goo Dolls and Everlong by Foo Fighters are two of my all-time favorites.  But right now I'm obsessed with Tusks by Fleetwood Mac, It's Time by Imagine Dragons and C'Mon C'Mon by Von Bondies.  THAT song gets my HYPE.

2. Who is your favorite singer/band?
Right now Imagine Dragons and Mumford and Sons are way up my list.  Smashing Pumpkins is another one.  But Celine Dion will always be my top girl.

3. What song reminds you of your childhood?
Nsync's No Strings Attached CD.  Haha.

4. What songs put you in a good mood?
I have a "happy music" list on my Spotify.  On it is C'Mon C'Mon by Von Bondies, Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine, King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men and That's What's Up by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.   Just to name a few.  Everything on that list makes me ridiculously happy.

Seriously.  Listen to this and NOT bob your head.

5. What is your music to rock out to in your car?
I don't know about "rocking out" but I get real into Radioactive by, who else, Imagine Dragons.  Other than that I have a worship CD from the church I attend that I just love.  It put me in such a peaceful place.

6. What is the most embarrassing album or song you own?
Lou Bega's Mambo Number Five, anyone?  Yea.  I'm all over it.

This has been such an easy weekend.  I didn't leave the house Saturday (well really I didn't leave my pajamas).  I vacuumed some, did a little laundry and finished reading Eclipse....again.  I know I know.  The husband gave his thumbs a good workout with the Xbox.  The cats, well, they slept all day.  Nothing new there.
Having fun weekend plans are great but sometimes you just need a day to do absolutely nothing.

Have a great week, dears!
