Ten on Tuesday - Kim Jong-Un Approves

1. BREAKING BAD SPOILERS BELOW!!
HOLY FREAKING CRAP what an awesome finale.  BIG kudos to Vince Gilligan for giving the characters a proper goodbye and not one of those BS let-the-audience-decide-what-happens endings.  I really didn't see Walt surviving that big finale.  BUT I was pleasantly surprised that Jesse lived AND got to kill that psychopath Todd with his own hands.  I'm SO sad this show is over.

2. You know you're watching too much Vine when your favorite Viners show up in your dreams.  Over the weekend I dreamed that Robby Ayala and Josh Clark were t-shirt vendors on a trip to the beach.  Good grief.

3. Guess who's going to be in the student section at the Bama game Saturday.  This girl.  I'm going to make it my mission to blend in seamlessly with the 20 year olds.

4. Got the Halloween stuff up at work!  I decided I didn't like the tombstone next the the picture of my sister, so I switched it with the perfume bottle after I took this.
Instagram
5. You may have noticed a new button at the top of my "lovlies" section.  My lady, Lauren revamped her blog and she did it HERSELF.  Check it out.

6. Sunday Chris and I hauled tail to meet my family for dinner.  I even passed a car while driving my dad's monster truck...only to be stopped by a train that was STOPPED dead on the tracks.  Naturally.

7. Heh.  If you don't get this...I don't know what to do for you.

8. At first I was like "yea this would be a great idea".  Then I was like "but with all the idiots that make the effort to actually call 911, the operators probably don't want to be that accessible".

9. We paid off our only credit card yesterday!  Woop woop!  I'll TAKE that extra $100 a month thank you VERY much!

10. I FINALLY finished a book for the first time since getting my smartphone.

Links for Your Weekend

Habits of Supremely Happy People
I mentioned it once but in case you missed it here's a quick fix for all you no-reply bloggers.

These photos of soldiers before, during and after war are haunting.

Read this and try not to gag/throw your computer.

Of all of the millions of many blog posts about the Miley fiasco, this one was my favorite.  Spot on.

I would have to kill someone if they did this to me.

Don't abuse your children or they will write a scathing obituary.

Really digging this bag.

PMS Will Kill Us All - a post by Michele at No Model Lady.

This would make a cool Christmas gift.  Wink wink.

My top three Viners that keep me laughing: KingDaddy, Thomas Sanders, and Robby Ayala.

Salvaging the Costa Concordia.  These pictures are fascinating to me.

Superheroes wash the windows at Children's Hospital of Alabama.

Find out which fictional character shares your birthday.

Have a great weekend!

Emmys - Good, Bad and Ugly

I told you I'd been having award show withdrawals. But no more!

Tina and Amy were funny, Don Draper needs to shave and Breaking Bad should've swept the thing.  Glad we covered that now on to the good stuff!  I've been drooling over some of these dresses since Sunday night.

The Good:
|Kristen Connolly - Maybe I'm crazy but I loved this.  Sleek, elegant and very modern. | Giuliana Rancic - Love the icy color (my fave), fabric and cut.  Super gorgeous all around and she usually doesn't do anything for me. | Laura Dern - LOVED the lace, the unexpected girly color and the "casual" cut! | Julie Bowen - Always one of my favorites but this might be my favorite thing she's ever worn EVEN over the hot lime number from last year.|
Honorable Mentions: Padma Lakshmi, Anna Gunn, Claire Danes.

The Bad:
|Connie Britton - It had potential but there's no saving that velvet.  Just ugly. | Julianna Hough - Thank you for reminding us you have a rockin' body.  Now put the rest of that dress on. | January Jones - She's usually one of my favorites.  This color nor cut did anything for her.  She's gorgeous but I was really disappointed with this. | Heidi Klum - I usually hate anything she wears and this was no exception.  It's an ugly dress anyway and then she just poured salt in the would with that awful thing on the neck.|
Dishonorable Mentions: Michelle Dockery, Maria Menounos, Lily Rabe, Carrie Underwood

The Ugly:
|Betsy Brandt - No. | Cat Deeley - Just no. | Aubrey Plaza - No no no. | Lena Dunham - To quote American Beauty "Are you trying to look unattractive?  Well, congratulations.  You've succeeded admirably".|
Dishonorable Mentions: Zosia Mamet, Amanda Peet, Vera Farmiga.

Favorite Deschanel Sister:

As much as I adore the powder blue color of Z's I'm just not 100% sold on this dress.  She looks amazing though.  However despite the questionable fabric, E's looks like something I would wear and I'm a sucker for one long sleeve.  So I have to give this one to Emily!  I wonder if the sisters coordinated colors or if it just happened that way...

Favorite Trend [Red]:
It made me so happy that this was the color of the night.  There's something so classy and SEXY about a red dress.  And I just love all three of these ladies.

So there you have it!  Agree?  Disagree?  Want to punch me in the face for hating on Lena Dunham?
Let me know!

Ten on Tuesday - BB, Feeling Fabulous and ACTUAL LEAVES

1. There are actual leaves in my yard.  LEAVES!  From TREES!

2. I'm so ashamed that I haven't finished a single book since I got my smartphone.

3. It's gotten pretty bad.

4. Congrats to Derek Hough on his Emmy!  The only choreographer NOT from So You Think You Can Dance and he wins!

5. Wore my new jeans yesterday and oh goodness I felt fabulous.

6.  BREAKING BAD SPOILERS BELOW!
Chris lost his mind again (he does that a lot) when Jesse's girl met her end.  We're taking bets on how this whole thing ends.  Chris thinks Walt turns himself in and then kills himself publicly.  I also think he turns himself in but he just dies from the cancer his first night in a cell.  I can't IMAGINE how they're going to tie all these loose ends up in one more episode!

7. My dad's ringtone is Fall Out Boy's Light Em Up.  My dad > your dad.

8. This is a definite possibility for my pumpkin this year!

9. Finally put my hot pink bag into hibernation and brought out a fall purse!  It was time.

10. My Emmy fashion post tomorrow!

Why My Weekend Was Awesome - 3 Year Old Style

I told you I've been having some good weekends and this one was no exception!

-Saturday was T-Man's 3rd birthday party!  His 1st and 2nd were pretty epic as far as kiddy parties go.  This year it was held at Pump It Up, a place full of HUGE inflatables.  It didn't take long before Kaylen and I kicked off our shoes and joined the little ones!
Pictures 5, 6 and 7 is probably my favorite series of photos ever.

I can't tell you the last time I exerted that much energy since I've made it pretty clear that I. Don't.  Exercise.  I couldn't keep up with them!  But also can't remember the last time I smiled that much!  I had so much shamelessly being a kid again.  And Tristan just looked over-the-moon happy.  That little boy (and baby Tyler!) owns us.

-My ever-giving mother bought me two pairs of jeans since I ripped my best pair Tuesday morning.  Don't ask.

-Yesterday was the laziest of days with the husband and kitties.  Pajamas were never taken off.

-The Emmys aired last night!  Woop woop!  I was really disappointed Breaking Bad didn't sweep.  But a post on the fashion choices later!

Ten on Tuesday - DWTS, Kate, and Vampire Cupcakes

ten on tuesday

1. Chris comes back today from an overnight business trip.  OMG I've missed him soOoO much I'm dying.  Just kidding.  After two deployments I'm like whatever.

2. DWTS: I haven't watched yet!  All I saw was the first dance with everyone and then Peta's dance with her partner.  But I'm really excited about this cast!

3. My girl Kate made her first formal appearance after little Georgie's arrival and she was dazzling (naturally):

4.  No matter how many times I see it, Pretty Woman never gets old to me.

5. I think I found a color scheme for a girl nursery if/when that ever happens.  How precious are they??:

6. BREAKING BAD SPOILERS BELOW!!
OMG.  We were FREAKING OUT.  But I have to say I called it.  I just didn't see any way for Hank and Gomez to live through that.  The worst part was when the skinheads just dragged their bodies away and unceremoniously dumped them in a hole.  HARD episode.

7. Saturday I'm going to T's 3rd birthday at a Pump It Up party place.  I was excited and then I found out there are obstacle courses and blow up slides for adults.  Now I'm STOKED.

8. Haha.  Nothing struck fear into my heart as a kid like being taken out of church for misbehaving:
ten on tuesday

9. Letters on this keyboard are going in and out.  A few weeks ago it was the "u".  This week it's the "I" and sometimes the space bar.  Driving me nuts.  If you see a word missing some letters forgive me.

10. Doing it:

Why My Weekend was Awesome

The first time I did this type of post, I figured it would be a one time or maybe once in a while thing when I had a really good weekend.  But I've had a few here lately.  I just can't help it.

why my weekend was awesome

-Friday night we went to our high school home game.  The game completely sucked.  The best part though was the halftime shows.  The opponent's theme was Elvis and it was nothing short of awesome.  The Golden Gopher band did music from Les Mis.  It was theatrical and over the top and I have to say...I didn't hate it.  But then again, I do have a flare for the dramatic.

-Saturday the Tide beat Texas A&M in a knock down, drag out, bite your nails, scream at the TV, HARD FOUGHT game.  Roll freakin' Tide.

Everyone in the living room during a LOT of that game.
-Mom, out of the goodness of her heart, bought us a Hoover vacuum.  Much appreciated because the rinky dink one we had could NOT even handle all the cat hair.

-Yesterday the husband and I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond for some stuff for the house.  I got a new bamboo cooking utensil set for six bucks, a trash can, a little something to hang over the front door, and a super cool water bowl for the kids that pumps the water like a fountain.  Dixie loves it.

So why was your weekend awesome?  Tell Alyssa about it.

Ten on Tuesday - Link It Up!

-I had dinner with Pam Thursday and tonight is dinner with Lauren!  I've missed them so much!

-They announced the cast of Dancing with the Stars last week. Screamed out loud when I saw who they put Tristan with.   Well, I guess my little lucky charm will have a good two weeks.  Totally sucks.

-Haha.  True story.  And gotta love Mushu:

-I was not a happy camper when I drove to my parents house and saw that they CUT THE FIELD EARLY THIS YEAR!  I didn't even get any pictures of that gorgeous goldenrod!

-SOA tonight SUCKAAAS!

-I have a new pet peeve: actual mouth breathers.  Like, can hear them coming long before you see them.  Mother of pearl.

-Chris and I were ready to die at the end of Sunday nights Breaking Bad.  Gah we were so pissed.  I can't take it.  My HEART can't take it.

-This is the ONLY way to mock people.  Lauren and I know this:

-I'm reading The Devil Wears Prada.  SO different from the movie.  Fun fact: in the book Miranda is the one with a British accent, not Emily.

-This made me cry from laughing so much:

Link up, kiddies.
